Worst experience since becoming a Marriott Bonvoy member

I am writing this as a letter of complaint, unfortunately. I have been a Marriott Bonvoy member for a number of years now, traveling both for work and for personal reasons, and I have never had such a horrible experience with a Marriott employee. I have listed two confirmation numbers on this form as I had booked two reservations back to back at the same hotel. Confirmation 86051192 was made from April 17th -April 19th as a business trip, whereas 86056175 was booked from April 19th - April 21st as a personal stay. Upon checking in on April 17th, the front desk employee was no where to be found for 15 min while a line of guests were waiting to check in. Once Yatzy, the employee came to the front desk, she stated she was in the restroom and I understood and had no issue with it. I explained to her that I had two reservations back to back, and she made a notation in the system that the room is a back to back reservation, so that we wouldn’t have to change rooms. We went to our room, room 206, unpacked, and upon getting into bed, the mattress flipped over nearly having me fall to the floor. Thankfully, Yatzi, was able to accommodate us with another room. She was very sweet and upgraded us to a two bedroom unit, room 315, and ensured that the notation for the back to back reservation is still noted in the system but to make sure I check back in Friday to re-activate the room keys as the reservation are two separate reservations. Friday April 19th, i returned to the hotel at around 3PM, and checked in with front desk as Yatzi had mentioned and was received by a very disgruntled employee, Truveda. Truveda was rude and unprofessional from the moment I said hello. She advised me that check out was 12 and that I was late in coming to the desk regarding my room situation of the two reservations. I was trying to tell her of the scenario and advice from Yatzi, but she kept cutting me off and told me to hold on repeatedly. I have never experienced such dismissive and rude interactions with a Marriott employee. I waited patiently while she was looking through the computer system, and explained to her that the reservation has a note that it is a back to back reservations to avoid a room change. She said there was no notation in the system and proceeded to change our room to room 303, gave us our new room keys and told us she had to change us because the room type i was in was completely sold out. This was a total lie, as Yatzi had reassured me that there would be no issues with the reservations being back to back. I told Truveda I would need the key to my old room in order to get my belongings out of room 315 and she handed me back my old key, which as you know becomes inactive once a new room key is made. Regardless, I still went a tried the old room key of 315, but guess what - it did not work. I went back to the front office with my wife and advised Truveda of the situation. While she was making a new copy of the key for our old room 315, she advised another employee regarding our old room 315 as checking out to which this other employee responded that in the system it notes that the reservation is a back to back. Upon hearing this my wife and I questioned Truveda, stating that she lied to us, telling us that the reservation did not have a notation in the system, while in fact it truly did as the other employee just confirmed it without knowing we were the guest staying in room 315. Truveda’s behavior and mannerism was completely dismissive, rude, and utterly disrespectful. She has no customer service skills, and blatantly lied to us. Upon being caught lying, she walked away!!!! I am appalled by her actions and am completely shocked that Marriott has employees of this caliber and would like to know how Marriott plans to handle this situation because Truveda should not be in the hospitality industry as she lacks the key elements of true professionalism.

Friendly and professional staff. We had the 2 room suite. Our room needed some serious updating. Clean but with an update/upgrade of the interior would have made this hotel very enjoyable experience. The hot breakfast was not impressive. Powdered scrambled eggs. Bacon and potatoes. Have not tried the pool or the whirlpool. Otherwise a no frills hotel stay.

As a lifetime Platinum Marriott Bonvoy member, I have seen my fair share of Marriott properties. Prior to booking this hotel, I was a bit jittery because the last time I stayed here it wasn't that pleasant an experience. However, that was before the pandemic. Upon checking in, nevertheless, my wife and I both knew this experience was going to be positively different. Crystal, the GM was there to greet us when we checked in. She went out of her way to recognize our status and show her appreciation for us choosing this property. The next morning, during breakfast, she was there, too. Making sure everyone in the breakfast area had enough food and was happy with the offering. The pandemic changed a lot of things including service quality in general. There's been a higher demand for better pay, but unfortunately, service quality went the other way. Crystal understands that and she is trying to make sure her hotel bucks the trend. That alone makes her stand out and her hotel one of a kind. I would come back and stay at her property again and again in the future whenever I'm in the area.

Marriott Needs to Do Better!

I am writing this review as a Gold Elite member. This has got to be the worst Marriott property I’ve ever stayed at. There are cracks and unfinished fixtures all over the place. The carpet is horrible throughout the hotel. People’s kids are loud late at night. There was an empty water bottle on the side of the bed and can of beer in the fridge when we checked in. I mean, the list goes on and on—corporate needs to come and check out this property and add it to its list for upgrades. If you are coming here for the Super Bowl, know what you’re getting into. Oh, you can hear every plane that is landing as well. Can you upgrade to the soundproof windows since you’re on the flight path! Oh and the staff is really nice. This is not their fault.
